Join MoMAZoZo, this Friday, September 28th, to visit two great art institutions in our area. First at the Roswell Museum and Art Center for Roswell Artist-in-Residence Rodney Carswell‘s exhibition and lecture with a $10 dinner and beer reception to follow at the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art.
The caravan will gather at 3pm on 12th Street in front of Audrey’s Antiques making stops in Captain and Lincoln. RSVP to email@example.com to make carpooling arrangements– at the moment we have two drivers with room for four passengers. Spread the word.
The paintings and drawings Rodney Carswell has produced during his stay in Roswell display a continuation of his lifelong interest in abstraction and geometric form, while providing evidence of an increased aesthetic disposition, towards subjective and idiosyncratic solutions.
Rodney grew up in Santa Fe and attended high school at NMMI. He received his BFA degree from University of New Mexico in 1968 and his MFA degree from the University of Colorado in 1972. He has received fellowship grants from the John Solomon Guggenheim Foundation, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. After spending much of his adult life working and teaching in the Chicago area, his residency at RAiR marks a permanent return to home in New Mexico.
